SUNDERLAND sealed the exit of Abdoullah Ba in the final few hours of the transfer window.
Ba has joined French second-tier side Dunkerque on a season-long loan, with Bennette having signed a similar deal at League One side Charlton Athletic.
Ba joins a Dunkerque side currently sitting in fourth position in Ligue 2 as they battle to try to win promotion to the French top-flight.
The midfielder has made 74 appearances for the Black Cats since moving to Wearside in the summer of 2022, scoring four goals and contributing five assists.
Sunderland sporting director Kristjaan Speakman said: “After playing regularly throughout his first two seasons at the club, first-team opportunities have been limited for Abdoullah this season.

“We hope this move will be a platform for him to earn regular playing time before he returns to Sunderland at the end of the campaign. We wish him well and look forward to reviewing his progress throughout the next few months.”
Sunderland also held talks with League One side Charlton Athletic over a possible loan move for Jewison Bennette, but the deal was not concluded ahead of the deadline and the Costa Rican will remain with the Black Cats.
